Busy
The title says it all, I've been busy.
Last Friday we had The Princess's birthday sleepover party. She had five friends over and four of them stayed the night. My role was cleaning up the house and doing whatever I was told. I applaud Mrs. OldGuy for her amazing organizational skills and prep work. She'd basically organized The Princess's favourite dinner (fajitas) followed by a sundae bar, and a spa night complete with nail, foot, and hair stations. The girls were pampered for several hours as they got the whole works done by my wife and two of her friends. They also got to enjoy mixed drinks and magazines purchased and or made special for the occasion. After the spa treatment there were games and a movie, then it was time for bed. The next morning a breakfast of pancakes and bacon was served and the girls played another game. They were then sent home with loot bags filled with girlie stuff so they could do it all again at home. It was quite an event and we were on the go non-stop from 5:30 p.m. until after 1 in the morning but they had a great time and it's a party The Princess will remember. The picture was taken just before the spa portion of the evening started. You can't see the foot bath and hair stuff but they were there.
I took Friday off to clean the house and do whatever else needed to be done, and after the party one of The Princess's friends stayed for the better part of the day for a play date, so with taking Sunday to rest that was the weekend pretty much done.
As for the work week, it's just flown by. Probably because I'm still tired from the weekend I've just wanted to come home every night, have my coffee, eat, get into my jammies, and relax. Oh, and watch CSI Miami. Seems every time I sit down to blog CSI Miami comes on so I watch it. Somenights 2-3 episodes in a row.
Okay, look, Horatio Caine is just about the coolest guy on earth. Forget Superman, Batman, or James Bond. Give me Horatio, known simply as H to some of his friends, of which alas, I am not one. With his sideways stance, icy stare and nerves of steel he's a cop's cop, a red-haired Dirty Harry with a heart. And Callie. Callie is smart, gutsy and well ...,you know. Anyway, when I hear the opening theme I'm drawn to the television like a moth to a flame and the next thing I know hours have gone by and I haven't done a damn thing.
Ah well, it could be worse, at least it isn't drugs.
On another note The Princess had a bizarre dream the other night. She dreamt I had my nose pierced but instead of a stud (again, sadly, I'm not one) I had a license plate that said Ford on it. So maybe I remind her of a truck.
And on yet another note I took money out of a bank machine yesterday and it charged me a $1.50 "convenience fee." I didn't think it was very convenient. Maybe the bank did.
Oh and hey, you know that Mcdonalds commercial that was on around St. Patrick's Day where one guy says to the other "Your name is Pat and my name is Pat..." The Princess and I had fun with that one for days. We did the accents and everything and we'd laugh like a couple of loons when we did it. Seriously, that commercial should win an award.
Anyway, that's it for now, gotta go go have a nap. Oh wait, can't do that, I'm at work.
Oh, oh, I almost forgot something. I was watching the news last night and they were profiling this Al-Qaeda terrorist and talking about how they post messages and execution videos on the internet and I got thinking how evil those people are and then they showed the laptop he was using and it had the Apple logo and I thought "Somebody's head is going to roll over that."
